“The Cyrillic Alphabet” exhibition on display in Ankara

“The Cyrillic alphabet” exhibition was presented at the University of Ankara. The event was organized in partnership by the Institute for Culture, the Bulgarian Embassy in Turkey and The Department of Bulgarian Language and Literature at the University of Ankara. The exhibition was opened by Prof. Dr. Sakine Karakash, Dean of the Faculty for Foreign Languages, History and Geography and Ambassador Branimir Mladenov who talked about the mutual interest in expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of education and culture.

Students from the Bulgarian department of the University of Ankara presented key moments from the lives of Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius as well as the development of the Cyrillic alphabet throughout the centuries. Ambassador Mladenov gave a beginners’ self-study Bulgarian language course set as a gift to the university. The event ended with a cocktail party for diplomats, university professors, students and guests from the different educational and cultural organizations in the Turkish capital.
