“The Cyrillic Alphabet’ exhibition at the European Parliament

The “Cyrillic Alphabet” exhibition of works of 30 artists from Plovdiv was opened on 15 April 2008 at the house of the European Parliament in Brussels. The exhibition, which is part of the ‘Travelling exhibitions” collection of the Institute for Culture, is on display in the European capital on invitation from Mr Atanas Paparizov, Bulgarian Member of the European Parliament. Mr. Paparizov’s initiative was made possible by the Regional administration – Plovdiv that undertook the realization of the exhibition.

The exposition will be opened with a lecture by Prof. Axinia Dzhurova on the topic of “Multilinguism and Intercultural Dialogue – The Message of the Cyrillic Alphabet to Europe”.

Some of the artists whose works became part of project will be special guests to the event along with representatives of the Bulgarian institutions that supported the initiative. Representatives of the EU administration and the diplomatic corpus in the Belgium capital are invited to take part in the opening.
