Bulgarian films presented at the International Day of Francophonie
The International Day of Francophonie – 20 March was celebrated all over the world with different cultural events .
The Bulgarian movie “Monkeys in the Winter” from director Milena Andonova was shown at the cinema festivals organized within the International day of Francophonie in Amman, Jordan and Damascus, Syria. The film was also presented at European cinema themed screenings in Pnom Pen, Cambodia, Hanoi, Vietnam and Kishinev, Moldova. In Istanbul Bulgaria was represented by the “Against the Stream – Musical Dialogues along the Danube” from director Zlatina Russeva. The Institute for Culture facilitated their successful presentation in these two events. In partnership with the producers of the film, the Institute provided for the French translation of “Monkeys in Winter” and secured a copy of “Against the Stream – Musical Dialogues along the Danube” in whose creation in 2007 the Institute participated. The Institute delivered and coordinated the dispatch of materials for these events.
