An exhibition by Yanko Bonev and Pavel Mitkov at the Bulgarian Embassy in London

On 11 January 2011, the Amalgam Exhibition opened in the Sophia Art Gallery at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in London. The exhibition includes works by sculptor Yanko Bonev and artist Pavel Mitkov.

Yanko Bonev is widely known for his works in the area of monumental plastic art. Bronze is the artist’s preferred material. Yanko Bonev has participated in a number of national exhibitions, and his works projects have been exhibited in various towns in Bulgaria. Besides, his name was entered in the Bulgarian Encyclopaedia of Monumental Art.

Pavel Mitkov has more than 30 solo exhibitions in Europe, the United States, the Philippines, and Japan. He is an award winner at a large number of international arts events. Urban landscapes, old Renaissance houses, the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, flowers and abstract themes are the main features of his works.

For their first joint exhibition in the UK capital, the Bulgarian artists joined their talent in sculpture and fine art in one harmonious unity: Yanko Bonev participates with 25 bronze sculptures on different topics, and Pavel Mitkov exhibits 15 paintings specially made for the London exhibition.

The guests at the event, who included representatives of the cultural and academic circles, connoisseurs of fine art and friends of Bulgaria, met the exhibition with particular interest and attention.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 11 January to 25 January 2011, at the Sophia Art Gallery, Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in London.
