Bulgarian Ethnographic Collection Presented in Lithuania

Dec 2nd 2010, at the Antanas Zhmuidzinavichus Museum a.k.a the Devil Museum, branch of the National Art Museum “M. K. Čiurlionis” in Kaunas, Lithuania, was the opening day and venue of exhibition “Bulgarian Masquerade Games and Masks”.

The exposition of the collection representing Bulgarian ethnographic regions has been organized by the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research and Museum of Ethnography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and the Museum of History in Pernik. Parallel to the event, a movie, presentation and catalogue were provided.

Mr. Osvaldas Daugelis, Director of the “M. K. Čiurlionis” Museum, Mr. Ivan Danchev, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Lithiuania, and the Bulgarian curator of the exhibition Ass. Prof. Nadezhda Teneva opened the event.

The opening was covered by the Lithuanian National TV and two regional TV channels.

The Exposition will be open to visitors until Jan 30th 2011.
