The event was part of the cultural programme for celebrating the 130th anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria. It took place on 5 March 2008 and was attended by representatives of the Bulgarian Diaspora, Czech publishers and members of the Czech PEN club.

The meeting at the Bulgarian cultural institute with Stefan Tsanev, his wife Doroteya Toncheva, a representative of the “Janet 45” publishing house which released the two-volume edition gave the opportunity to those interested in Stefan Tsanev’s works to meet him personally.

The programme for the following day included meetings at the National Library with members of the Czech PEN club, representatives of the Association of Czech publishers, translators and experts on Bulgarian literature. The state of the contemporary Bulgarian literature was discussed at a meeting in the National library as well as issues of its publishing and circuit.

The book presentation was supported by the Institute for Culture within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and it will contribute to reviving the Bulgarian-Czech relations in the field of culture.
