Participation in the eighth edition of "POETRY IN THE SUBWAY"

For eighth year in a row, the international project "POETRY IN THE SUBWAY" collected poems by European authors. The poems are located in the carriages and stations of the Sofia metro in Bulgarian and in the original languages.

The opening took place on November 22 at the Polish Institute in Sofia with the participation of the director of the State Cultural Institute under the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Snezhana Joveva, who congratulated the organizers and emphasized the sustainability and importance of the project, through which peoples and cultures are known. She also read the Bulgarian poem "The Horse of St. Dimitar", participating in this year's edition at the suggestion of the State Cultural Institute and Literary Bulletin, authored by the poet Dimitar Kenarov.

The director of the Polish Institute, Karol Zelinski, as the host, introduced the participants in this year's edition and launched the literary reading, which this year is dedicated to the relationship between man and nature.
The project "Poetry in the subway" is organized by the Polish Institute in Sofia, together with the Literary Journal, with the partnership of the State Cultural Institute of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Goethe-Institut Bulgarien and the Embassy of Greece, the Embassy of Denmark, Institute Cervantes, the Italian Cultural Institute, the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus, the Camoish Institute, the Embassy of Romania, the Embassy of Slovakia, the Embassy of Ukraine, the Liszt Institute, the Embassy of Finland and the Czech Center under the #EUNIC cluster.

This year, the project includes poems from 16 EUNIC Cluster Bulgaria member states and associated institutions. The Bulgarian participation is the poet Dimitar Kenarov with his poem. In the metro cars and metro stations, the poems are available - "Sofia University", "Nadezhda", "Princess Maria Louisa", "Lion's Bridge", "NDK", "European Union", " Vitosha", "IEC/Tsarigradsko Shose", "Lomsko Shose", "White Danube", "Han Kubrat" and "James Boucher".

The overall visual concept was realized by the team of graphic designer Anna Simeonova.
