On the eve of the celebrations in Slovakia of St. St. Cyril and Methodius, the exhibition "Alphabet and History" was opened at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute, a joint work of the State Cultural Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the "Elena and Ivan Duychevi" Foundation. The event in Bratislava on July 4 was under the patronage of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Slovak Republic H.E. Mr. Vasil Petkov, who opened the exhibition. Authors of the traveling exhibition, which will remain for viewing in Bratislava throughout the summer season, are Prof. Ph.D. Vasya Velinova and art. cor. Aksinia Dzurova from the Center for Slavic-Byzantine Studies "Prof. Ivan Duychev" at SU "St. Kliment Ohridski", and consultant - Prof. Dr. Kazimir Popkonstantinov.

A special guest at the opening of the exhibition, but also at the celebrations in Nitra the next day, was Prof. Vasya Velinova, director of the Duychev Center.

The exhibition "Alphabet and History" presents the stages of the development of the two alphabets - Glagolitic and Cyrillic and the role of writing in the cultural history of the Slavic peoples. The exquisitely designed 24 panels take the changes in the two alphabets beyond the linguistic horizon.
