On the occasion of Europe Day, May 9, a public literary event will be held in the Czech Center in Sofia under the name "Europe Reads". In the form of a poetry reading, writers from several European countries will take part.

The main organizer of this initiative is the Czech Center, in cooperation with cultural institutes - Spanish Institute "Cervantes", Portuguese Institute "Camois", Hungarian Institute "Liszt", Polish Institute, the embassies of Ukraine, Slovakia, Greece, Romania, as well as with the participation of the State Institute for Culture and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria - all members of the EUNIC cluster network in Sofia.

In coordination with the State Institute for Culture, the poetry reading includes a Bulgarian writer - Anton Baev, who is the author of six collections of poems, one novel and a book of literary and philosophical fragments.

The event aims to unite both the European writing community and guests through the power of words. Europe Day is an occasion to remember that we are all stronger together as citizens of countries in the European Union, and poetry and words skillfully encourage the manifestation of our cultural differences, but also ethno-cultural identity, through which European solidarity and unity are strengthened.
