Parts of the exhibition "Miraculous Icons and Holy Relics of the Balkans" were presented at the Onufri Iconographic Museum in Berat on May 24. The event took place with the assistance of Agim Ayazi, chairman of the Eight Association of the Bulgarian National Minority in Berat. The opening was attended by Ambassador Momchil Raichevski, diplomats from the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tirana, Donald Molishi, Chairman of the Berat District Council, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Albania Selim Hoxhaj, Musa Ulcini, Adviser at the Ministry of Education, representatives of the Bulgarian minority, journalists and guests of the event.

During the presentation, Ambassador Raichevski spoke about the May 24 holiday. "It is an honor for me on this special day - the feast of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius to present in the iconographic museum" Onuphri "part of the exhibition" Miraculous Icons and Holy Relics in the Balkans. " The exposition presents a new visual project developed by the State Cultural Institute under the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria together with the Elena and Ivan Duychevi Foundation and a team of medieval researchers from the Center for Slavic-Byzantine Studies "Prof. Ivan Duychev "at Sofia University" St. Kliment Ohridski ", said the ambassador and explained the reason for choosing the city of Berat as a stop for this exhibition:" Part of the board is dedicated to the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius and their students. . The cult of the Holy Septuagint is especially revered here in Berat, where the relics of Gorazd and Angelarius are preserved.

The host of the event and director of the Iconographic Museum in Berat Arian Prifty briefly presented the history and specifics of icon painting. According to him, medieval culture and church art are a connecting bridge between our countries. They can serve as a basis on which to develop a future enhanced cooperation through exhibitions presenting original icons and relics from Bulgaria in the Onufri Museum.
The exhibition is open for ten days at the Onufri Museum in Berat.
