The presentation of the Bulgarian art project “STREICH” continues in Brussels

The eve of the Orthodox Easter holidays saw the continuation of the Bulgarian art project STREICH in the Belgian capital presenting sculptures by the famous Bulgarian sculptor Todor Todorov. A private view of a second exhibition of 14 sculptures took place on 21 April in the branch of Belfius Bank Rue de la Loi which is on display to the Belgian public from 1 March till 30 June this year. The event, which was attended by the author Todor Todorov and the curator of the project artist Daniela Todorova, was opened by the Belfius Bank Regional Manager for Brussels Mrs. Patricia Chenut and the Bulgarian Ambassador to Belgium Plamen Bonchev. A greeting on behalf of EU Commissioner Maria Gabriel was offered by Ms Loriane Bertrand, member of her cabinet.
Numerous guests, including a number of ambassadors, diplomats, representatives of Belgian institutions and cultural figures, had the opportunity to enjoy magnificent examples of contemporary Bulgarian sculpture art, as well as the masterful performance of a string quartet with the participation of young Bulgarian cellist Nikolay Hristov and his fellow students at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels.
The previous exhibition of sculptures within the art project, which is on display for the first time outside Bulgaria, was opened on Bulgaria’s national day 3 March at the Brigit Art Gallery in Brussels and lasted until March 31. The STREICH project is implemented jointly by the Amateras Foundation, the Bulgarian Embassy in Brussels and Belgian partners, as well as with the kind support of the National Culture Fund and the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
