The Film Festival Master of Art Conqueres Sofia cinemas again in April 2022

05/04/22

The seventh edition of the Master of Art Film Festival opens on April 7 at 19:00 at the Lumiere Cinema. As a sign of solidarity and support with the Ukrainian people, this year the festival presents a special program with Ukrainian films - "Focus Ukraine". The festival will be opened with the American film "KURT VONEGAT - INDEPENDENT OF TIME". Work on this film began 39 years ago, when the then young director Robert Wade wrote a letter to his literary idol, offering to make a film about him. Filming began in 1988, and the friendship Wade and Vonnegut that has formed over the decades is shown in the film. "KURT VONEGAT - INDEPENDENT OF TIME" is primarily a biography of a beloved American author. The film is both a tribute to the great writer and a skilful introduction to his world for the uninitiated.

Another highlight in the first days of the festival is the film "KUBRIUK FOR KUBRIK" by French director Gregory Monroe. The film is a rare transcendent journey through the life and films of the legendary Stanley Kubrick, as we have not seen before. Contains unfamiliar interviews with the genius. In 2021, KUBRIUK FOR KUBRIK won the International Emmy Award for Art Programs.
