Opening of an Exhibition of the State Institute for Culture in Sarajevo on the Occasion of the National Holiday of the Republic of Bulgaria

On the occasion of the National Holiday of the Republic of Bulgaria, on March 3, 2022 in the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo was opened the exhibition "Sboryanovo - nature and monuments, gods and people", which was realized with the special assistance of the State Institute for Culture to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The event was attended by the TEU Chief in Sarajevo, Ambassador Johan Zatler, the NATO Chief of Staff in Bosnia and Herzegovina, General McGaha, the UN Ambassador to BiH, Steliana Nedera, the Head of the Council of Europe Office in BiH, Boyana Urumova, the EUFOR Commander's Political Adviser, the ambassadors of Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Sweden, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Palestine, etc., as well as representatives of the embassies of the United States and other European countries. On behalf of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Assistant Minister for Bilateral Affairs Lubo Garkovic and Director of the Bilateral Relations Directorate were present. The event was attended by representatives of local authorities from various cities in the country, including Sarajevo, Trebine, Kiselyak, Olovo, Bosanska Krupa and others.

Guests at the opening of the exhibition were representatives of the Bulgarian EUFOR military contingent in Sarajevo, BiH national football coach Ivaylo Petev, as well as Bulgarians working in various international institutions in the country and many friends of Bulgaria.

At the beginning of the event, Mr. Nikola Nikolov, interim manager, addressed a short greeting to the guests, during which he noted that Sboryanovo is a special place for all Bulgarians, as it is a testimony to the coexistence of different rituals, religions and beliefs. they intertwine and have common features, so that Orphism, Islam and Christianity coexist in one union. The interim ruler stressed that Sboryanovo is an exceptional example of modern tolerance between different ethnic groups and religions in Bulgaria.

The official opening of the exhibition was accompanied by a short cocktail with a tasting of Bulgarian white and red wines and Bulgarian pastries and pickles.

The exhibition at the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo will be open to visitors until March 10th, inclusive.
