The Embassy of Bulgaria in Madrid and the Municipality of Madrid will Cooperate on Joint Cultural Initiatives
On February 14, Ambassador Alexei Andreev met with the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, at the Sibeles Palace, one of the most recognizable buildings in the Spanish capital. During the talks, which took place in a warm friendly atmosphere, the very good bilateral relations at all levels were highlighted, as well as the contribution of the large Bulgarian community to the development of the Autonomous Region of Madrid.
Ambassador Andreev presented a project of the Bulgarian visual artist Hristo Gelov, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the first tour of the world, and asked the mayor for assistance in its implementation. The two sides agreed to continue talks at expert level with a view to finding a solution to the existing technical constraints in its implementation. Other cultural initiatives proposed by the embassy with the participation of Bulgarian artists and musicians, which could be implemented jointly with the Municipality of Madrid, were also discussed.
On the occasion of Trifon Zarezan, Ambassador Andreev presented to Mayor Almeida Bulgarian wine from the characteristic and only in the world emblematic variety Shiroka Melnishka Loza.
The Bulgarian Ambassador signed the honorary book of the Municipality with a wish for the well-being of all Madrid and Bulgarians in Madrid.
