Contemporary Bulgarian artists present their work in a gallery in the Czech Republic

11/01/22

Bulgarian artists living and working in the Czech Republic present their works in an exhibition organized by the Bulgarian Cultural Institute. The exhibition includes works by Bistra Bakalova, Boris Brankov, Sofia Kandilarova, Sevdalina Kovarzhova Kostadinova, Valentin Popov, Lyuben Petrov, Rumen Sazdov, Selina Sazdova, Nikolay Stanev, Irena Fris Staneva, Louisa Staneva and Todor Yankov.

The artists are representatives of different generations, with different ideological and aesthetic manifestations. The works of each are carriers of personal symbolism, emotional and metaphorical projections, specific means of expression, ideas and narrative-poetic inventions. They are connected by the dynamics that form the creative individuality - the anxiety of the seeking spirit in the process of understanding, defining and transforming ideas into real images. The meeting of authors so different in creative style, topics, media and concepts is a challenge both for themselves and for the viewer. United in the expositional and contemplative space, they can find common ground and have a visual dialogue with each other with thought, heart and soul.

The event was provoked by the largest exhibition of Bulgarian artists in the history of post-liberation Bulgaria, which took place 95 years ago / 1926 / in Prague.

The exhibition is exhibited in the gallery of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Prague and will last until the end of January.
