Architectural and design bureaus and designers from Bulgaria won awards from the BIG SEE Design Month festival in Slovenia, which were presented at a virtual ceremony last week. Traditionally, the awards for achievements were awarded in six areas - design in the field of tourism; fashion and accessories; Interior Design; architecture; product design and wood products, as the Bulgarian participants were awarded in the first four categories. A total of 26 conceptual and already realized projects, as well as products were awarded.

In the category "Tourism", Plovdiv was awarded as a creative destination, in relation to which the jury points out the fact that it is the oldest continuously populated city in Europe and the first in Bulgaria, chosen as European Capital of Culture (2019). The role of the Kapana creative industries district as an environment for the exchange of ideas, cooperation and growth through culture is especially noted.

Among the winners are offices and individual designers from Ruse, Sofia, Varna and other cities, who presented their solutions for furnishing office buildings, homes, sports facilities, restaurants and cultural institutions. This year, for example, the project for the establishment of the Goethe Institute in Sofia was awarded.

The authors of eight different buildings and public spaces received recognition in the category "Architecture".
