The Exhibition "Bulgarian Monuments under the Protection of UNESCO" is Visiting Montenegro

At the initiative of H.E. Dr. Meglena Plugchieva - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Montenegro, in an online meeting held on October 18, 2021, the mayors of Nessebar Mr. Nikolay Dimitrov and Kotor - Mr. Vladimir Jokic, renewed ties between the two cities, included in the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List, by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation. During the online signing, H.E. was also present. Snezana Radovic - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to the Republic of Bulgaria.

The Memorandum of Cooperation between the Municipality of Nessebar and the Municipality of Kotor aims to strengthen relations between the two cities and to lay the foundations for future cooperation between them in the areas of: preservation of historical heritage; culture; tourism; sports; cooperation in the exchange of useful ideas and practices for the promotion of tangible and intangible values; sharing important experience in advertising and presentation of Nessebar and Kotor and their thousand-year history in the conditions of modern economic realities.

At the initiative of the Bulgarian Embassy in Montenegro and with the kind assistance of the State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the event in the Montenegrin city was marked with an exhibition "Bulgarian Monuments under the Protection of UNESCO", dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Bulgaria's membership in UNESCO and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the UN specialized agency. The exhibition was opened by Ambassador Dr. Meglena Plugchieva and the Mayor of Kotor Mr. Vladimir Jokic, in the Church of St. Paul in the old town of Kotor, immediately after the signing of the Memorandum. The opening of the exhibition was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps in Montenegro, the Assembly, the central executive and local government, and many journalists.

Due to the reported great interest in the exhibition, from October 26 the exhibition will be presented in the capital of Montenegro - Podgorica.
