14/10/21

On October 13, 2021, the project of the production company "Compote Collective" - 12 animated films based on contemporary Bulgarian poetic texts, was presented with a book-album in the gallery of the State Institute for Culture.

The State Institute for Culture has been a partner of the „Mark and Verse“ project for several years now by presenting some of the films in the programs of the Bulgarian diplomatic missions, said Ms. Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova, director of the Institute, in her greeting to the guests. Now we participate in the creation of this exhibition and catalog to it with the confidence that the creative energy it carries will be another convincing message about the vitality of Bulgarian culture and its potential to communicate our country on the international stage, she added.

Vessela Dancheva, whose idea the project "Mark and Verse" is, said: My desire to realize a series of short poetic films was born with the creation of the artistic platform "Compote Collective". I know how challenging and inspiring the connection between poetry and animation is. I wanted to share this experience with my teammates and provoke them to find a verse to turn into an author's animated film." The project has the support of the National Culture Fund, the National Film Center, and among the special guests was the Deputy Minister of Culture Mrs. Vessela Kondakova. She noted informally after the opening that such multidisciplinary and multimedia projects are important for the cultural scene and worthy of presentation abroad.

The poets whose poems are a starting point for the directors in the collection are - Dimitar Voev, Georgi Gospodinov, Marin Bodakov, Maria Doneva, Petar Chukhov, Anamaria Koeva, Kaloyan Pramatarov, Dilyan Elenkov, Stefan Ivanov, Stefan Ikoga. And the author's reading and cinematic interpretation of the films are the work of the directors - Ivan Bogdanov, Asparuh Petrov, Boris Despodov, Milen Vitanov, Joana Alexandrova, Dalibor Reininger, Vessela Dancheva, Petya Zlateva, Natalia Atanasova, Boris Pramatarov, Ina Nikolova and Dmitry Yagodin.
