We celebrate the day of the Bulgarian diplomatic service!

19/07/21

July 19 was approved by a resolution of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of July 21, 1999. On this date in 1879 a decree was issued by Prince Alexander I, appointing the first Bulgarian diplomatic representatives abroad. Dragan Tsankov, Evlogi Georgiev and Dimitar Kirovic were sent to defend Bulgarian interests in Constantinople, Bucharest and Belgrade. In the period from 1879 to 2003, Bulgarian diplomats learned the intricacies of diplomacy mainly in foreign diplomatic schools.

In September 2003, by a decree of the Council of Ministers, the Diplomatic Institute to the Minister of Foreign Affairs was established. The establishment of a Bulgarian diplomatic school aims at the introduction of standards in the diplomatic profession, according to which the employees of the Bulgarian diplomatic mission should be trained.

We wish all colleagues health and success in their work to protect the national interests of our country!

With several emblematic shots from the photographic exhibition "Directions" we send our congratulations to all diplomats and workers in the field of diplomacy in our country and in the Bulgarian diplomatic missions around the world!
