Bulgarian animated film participates at the Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentary and Short Films

On June 20, the Bulgarian animated film "Marmalade" was presented at the 22nd edition of the International Film Festival for Documentary and Short Films in Ismailia, Egypt. The filmmaker Radostina Neykova is associate professor of film studies and film art at the Institute of Art Studies, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. After the presentation Radostina Neykova met the audience, who was impressed by her story about the innovative hand-embroidered animation. It took Radostina Neykova over a year to make ‘Marmalade’; preparing over 3500 hand-embroidered pieces needed for the five-minute animation film.
The event was covered by several Egyptian media. Mr. Deyan Katrachev, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Egypt, also took part in the presentation of the film and in the meeting with the author.
