Contemporary Bulgarian art visits the Chinese city of Chongqing
From May 1 to May 31, in the Chinese city of Chongqing, the Bulgarian artist Gergana Rahneva presented her first solo painting exhibition in the Asian country. The exhibition is titled Long Way and tells about her family’s long journey hand in hand with art. On May 29, as a symbolic closing of the event, the artist and her family – her husband Peter Lazarov and their son Victor, met the audience and told about their experience as a European family in China.
For more than a decade, at least once a year, Gergana and her family have come every year to create and develop cultural activities in China, which has become their home for the past few years.
Gergana Rahneva's husband, Petar Lazarov, is also an artist. He specialized in graphics, and has taught Chinese students at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute for many years.
