"A JOURNEY FROM LIVING TRADITIONS. INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE IN SOUTHEAST EUROPE"- EXHIBITION ON THE OCCASION OF 65 YEARS SINCE BULGARIA'S ACCESSION TO UNESCO VISITS THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

On Friday, May 14, at 11.00 in the ground floor of the Central Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was opened the phototype documentary exhibition "Journey Through Living Traditions. Intangible cultural heritage in SEE. " The event was opened by Ms. Ulyana Bogdanska, Director General, and greetings to the guests were expressed by Mr. Hristo Georgiev, Secretary General of the National Commission for UNESCO, Ms. Irena Todorova, Executive Director of the UNESCO Regional Center - Sofia and Ms. Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova - Director of the State Institute of Culture under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The purpose of the exhibition, organized on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Bulgaria's accession to UNESCO by the National Commission for Bulgaria for UNESCO, the State Institute of Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Regional Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage in Southeast Europe under the auspices of UNESCO, is to show the living cultural heritage of the countries of the region and to promote the values enshrined in the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The photo exhibition was created on the initiative of the Regional Center - Sofia and is designed as a traveling outdoor exhibition. It was realized for the first time in May 2017, and was presented in the space of Largo in Sofia. Due to the great interest in June the exposition was invited to visit the New Bulgarian University. In April 2018, the it was shown for two weeks in the "Ancient Bath" in Plovdiv, and later, in May, visited the Regional History Museum in Ruse, as part of the Night of Museums initiative. In April 2019, at the invitation of the Chinese Cultural Institute, the exhibition participated in the "Expo of Cultural Industries" in Hangzhou, where it completely formed the Bulgarian Palace, which is the focus of this edition of the expo. In August 2020 it was invited for a long time in Bozhentsi. The event was attended by diplomats, researchers and experts in the field of intangible cultural heritage.
This is the second edition of the exhibition, realized in a more compact format, renewed vision and texts and shown for the first time to the public. It will be possible to visit until June 30 on the ground floor of the Central Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after pre-booking by phone 0889005082.
