World Art Day was declared at the 40th session of the UNESCO General Conference in 2019. Every year on April 15, the celebrations of World Art Day help to strengthen the links between art projects and society, promote greater awareness of diversity, of artistic expression and emphasize the contribution of artists to sustainable development. Art nurtures creativity, innovation and cultural diversity for all peoples of the world and plays an important role in sharing knowledge and promoting interest and dialogue. These are qualities that art has always had and will have if we continue to support environments in which artists and artistic freedom are promoted and upheld. In this way, the further development of art also expands our means of achieving a free and peaceful world.
