HONORARY AWARDS ON THE OCCASION OF 15 YEARS SINCE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE STATE INSTITUTE FOR CULTURE

    On January 26, 2021, in the Mission Gallery of the State Institute for Culture, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Georg Georgiev, presented diplomas to prominent personalities in the field of culture and cultural diplomacy, which marked the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute.

Winners of the award are Assoc. Prof. Albena Taneva, Prof. Aksinia Djurova, photographer Ivo Hadjimishev, President of the Amateras Foundation Daniela Todorova, Director of the British Council Lyubov Kostova and Mr. Yavor Koynakov, a longtime employee of the State Institute for Culture. All of them with their work over the past 15 years have been an important part of the cultural initiatives implemented by CRD and have contributed to the establishment of the institution as an important integral bridge between culture and diplomacy, said in her address the director of Institute Ms. Snezhana Yoveva.

With the words of Petar Uvaliev, Prof. Aksinia Dzhurova addressed the guests, noting that the Institute fulfills its important mission to be the good face of Bulgaria, and the Director of the British Council Mrs. Lyubov Kostova added that art and culture know no borders, so being that bridge between them that connects people through the contacts between them and allows us to move forward as humanity.

Ivo Hadjimishev excitedly shared that his acquaintance with the diplomat Petar Uvaliev helped him to understand and find the right way to promote our country to the world with his projects. Daniela Todorova, for her part, noted that during her visits to international cultural stages she always tries to emphasize what Bulgaria is like in spirit, achievements, cultural heritage and especially a modern Bulgaria, which is not just in Europe, but is also a global civilization.

"I hope that we will continue to tell in an interesting way!", said Assoc. Prof. Albena Taneva, author of the most represented of the traveling exhibitions of the Institute "The Power of Civil Society. The Fate of the Jews in Bulgaria” at the end of her address. Finally, Mr. Yavor Koynakov stressed the connection between culture and diplomacy, which has been built over the years thanks to partnerships and successful interactions with individuals from the cultural and educational sector.

The event was held in a narrow circle in compliance with all anti-epidemic measures.
