12/11/20

"Bulgaria, Japan and the Heritage of Civilizations", an exhibition at the Ruse Museum for the Night of Museums.

The exposition is dedicated to three past but important anniversaries of the bilateral diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Japan - 80 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, 60 years since their restoration and 110 years since the beginning of official contacts.
The heritage of the civilizations in the two countries goes in different directions, but the mutual acquaintance is a contribution to the discovery of the course of human civilization, of the common efforts to preserve the unique heritage of the ancient civilizations. The exhibition presents the strongest common experiences in mutual acquaintance and appreciation of the heritage of Bulgaria in Japan, and vice versa - the first messages that reached Bulgaria from the distant beginning of the development of no less unique archaeological heritage of Japan. The exposition includes general scientific research on key sites for understanding the course of human civilization, the remarkable Japanese technical assistance for humanitarian research, the presence of Japanese volunteers "who gave their dreams for the future of Bulgaria." This exhibition is dedicated to the past and the present, but also to the future of the ever closer rapprochement of the two peoples, based on the common interest in the heritage of civilizations, the anxious and optimistic insights for the new century.
The author of the poster story is our famous thracologist Prof. Diana Gergova, designers of the exhibition are Prof. Dr. Boris Serginov and Ch. Assistant Professor Dr. Bilyana Kaloyanova (NBU).
The exhibition is realized with the assistance of the Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria, the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, the National Archaeological Institute with a Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the New Bulgarian University.
