Selected Works from the Photo-Competition "Directions" will be Shown at the Garden "Crystal" between September 1 and 14, 2020

On September 1, 2020 at the Garden "Crystal" will be opened the exhibition "Directions", which includes selected photographs from the competition of the same title, organized by the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the 15-year anniversary since its establishment.
The aim of the competition, which took place between February and May the same year, was to select and display unique images taken by photography enthusiasts, without restrictions about their age and professional experience, which directly or indirectly reflect the themes of globalization, identity, intercultural dialogue. and tolerance between different nations.
The project partners are PhotoFactory Foundation and Sofia Municipality. A large number of photographers from Bulgaria and abroad showed interest in the initiative. After voting on certain criteria for each submitted photograph, a jury composed of: Albena Atanasova (PhotoFactory Foundation), Phelia Baruch (PhotoFactory Foundation), Dr. Katerina Gadjeva (Institute for Art Studies, BAS and lecturer at NBU) , Yavor Koynakov (Head of the Cultural Policy Department, SiC) and Ilian Lolugov (Chief Expert, SIC) determined the following awards:

Minko Mihailov, "Walk at sunset", 2019 (first prize)
Tanya Angelova, "School - Mali", 2009 (incentive award)
Georgi Mitev, "Starry Night over Passo Giau", 2019 (incentive award)
In the representative photographic exhibition "Directions" - 15 years of State Institute for Culture the selected photographs will be on view and the distinguished authors will be awarded at the official opening. The participants in the exhibition are: Ventsislav Petrov, Violeta Apostolova, Georgi Mitev, Elena Savova, Zlatko Latev, Ivan Nestorov, Izabela Manolova, Lilyana Karadjova, Minko Mihailov, Nikolay Alexiev, Plamen Hristov, Rozalia Malcheva, Tanya Angelova and Hristo Kracholov.
The exposition will be on view until September 14, 2020, subject to all anti-epidemic measures for distance and disinfection.
