Participation of the Bulgarian film "Monkey" in the Days of European Cinema Online in Japan in 2020
The European Film Days 2020 festival in Japan, organized by the EU Delegation in Tokyo, was held from 12 to 25 June 2020. The films were broadcast online on the Aoyama Theater platform - https: // aoyama-theater. jp. 21 films took part in the festival.
Bulgaria was represented at the film festival with the film "Monkey" (2016) by director Dimitar Kotsev - Shosho, who also participated in the Days of European Cinema in Japan in 2018 with translation and subtitles in English and Japanese. The director of the film Dimitar Kotsev - Shosho recorded a video message to the audience, which was translated into Japanese and broadcast during the festival. The Bulgarian film was distributed in the category "Unique and unusual films", together with films from Sweden, Italy and Belgium.
With the participation of the Bulgarian film "Monkey" in the festival "Days of European Cinema 2020" online in Japan, the commitment of the Bulgarian side to an important annual cultural event of the EU in Japan was confirmed.
