Presentation of the children's musical 'Salesman of hope' in Bosilegrad

Two performances of "Salesman of Hope', based on a text by Gianni Rodari, were presented in the Cultural Centre in the city of Bosilegrad.

With music by Petar Stupel and a contemporary arrangement by composer Yuri Stupel, the performance was given by 20 students from the Georgi Dimitrov primary school in Bosilegrad, their music teacher Goran Mlandev and Bulgarian musicians and actors Hagashod Agassian, Yuri Stupel, Ivaylo Zahariev, Ivaylo Kaloyanchev and Veselin Tsanev.

The project is part of the initiatives to celebrate the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and the Slavonic Scriptures May 24 in the western regions. The guest of honour at the event was the Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Nis, Mr. Edwin Sugarev.

The initiative "To the West and Back" was held for the second consecutive year, following successful performances in 2016 in Bosilegrad and Dimitrovgrad. Its purpose is to enrich the cultural life of the local community, to promote the creative potential of the children in the region, involving them in the process of putting on the performance.

The musical was created by the idea and directing of the Bulgarian actor Svetoslav Peev, music teacher Goran Mladenov and was organized by Ivana Mladenov-Bocheva.

This year's edition was supported by the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Culture Directorate of Sofia Municipality, the Bulgarian Memory Foundation, the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, the Municipality of Bosilegrad, the Georgi Dimitrov Primary School, the Aleko Konstantinov satirical theater, and DSK Bank.

On May 30, the play will be presented at the Satirical Theater in Sofia.
