The premiere of Zlatina Ruseva’s SEVT THE IMMORTAL, The Secrets of a Thracian King in the 13th Edition of the Sofia Film Festival, 05-13 March 2009

Film-show date and place: March 11, Lumier Hall, National Palace of Culture
Screenwriter and filmmaker Zlatina Ruseva and her team present viewers with a film story on the Thracian King Sevt III.  The story is built on the set-up of Sevt’s psychological design and revealing role in complex times, those of the Old World Globalization.  Author’s intended message aims at unveiling one of the grand ideas inherited from the Thracian culture: the belief in immortality, which belief defined Thracians’ very way of life, rituals and art.  They believed that the soul is a Divine Sparkle, glimmering in everyone as part of the Universal Cosmic Energy.  Their insight would penetrate life, as being part of the cosmic rhythm, expressed in their music.  It is no accident that the Ancient World perceptions were overwhelmed by this music.
The film takes the viewer to the unique technologies worked into the objects discovered, to unknown Thracian inscriptions and other extraordinary finds.
Based on artifacts, the film uncovers the role of Thracians in the Ancient World and their influence over the Greek culture and philosophers, such as Socrates and Plato.
The State Institute of Culture has supported this project as part of the implementation of its program for popularization of the image of Bulgaria.
