Presentation of the exhibition "The Power of Civil Society: The Fate of Jews in Bulgaria" at the European Parliament

On April 19 2016, State Institute for Culture Director Mrs Lyudmilla Dimitrova and Associate Professor Albena Taneva opened the exhibition "The Power of Civil Society: The Fate of the Jews in Bulgaria, 1940-1944" in the "József Antall" building of the European Parliament in Brussels. The event was organized at the initiative of Svetoslav Malinov, a member of the European Parliament.

The exhibition is a joint project by the National Cultural Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Centre for Jewish Studies at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski ".

Since its inception in 2008, "The Power of Civil Society: the Fate of the Jews in Bulgaria, 1940-1944" has more than 30 showings on three continents.
