Stone sculptures from Japan and Bulgaria

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Radion Popov opened the exhibition of Stone sculptures from Japan and Bulgaria at the Ministry. The exhibition includes works by seven Bulgarian and seven Japanese sculptors working in stone. The exhibition is part of the traditional festival Days of Japanese Culture in Bulgaria and is the result of many years of collaborative projects of Bulgarian sculptors from the Ilindentzi Art Centre Foundation with artists from the Ibaraki district, Sakuragawa.

Deputy Minister Popov emphasized the impact of the long-term relationship between the two countries which next year will mark the 90th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.

State Culture Institute Director Lyudmila DImitrova presented the artists on the exhibition and noted the emphasis on culture in the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Japan. The current project is yet another demonstration of the interest in furthering the cultural relations. 

The exhibition will be open at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until 7 December.
