Call for Entries: IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival 2015
FESTIVAL REGULATIONS
• Eligible for entry are films with duration of up to 27 minutes, completed after January 1, 2013.
• The Festival accepts individual submissions, as well as institutional entries (i.e. submissions form production companies, distribution companies, film academies, national film centres, television networks, creative associations etc.)
• Entry fees and deadlines for receiving films:
until November 15 No entry fee
until January 15 - 20.00 EUR
until March 15 - 30.00 EUR
until April 15 - 75.00 EUR April 20 - Final selection announced
• The Festival will pay a screening fee of 40 Kitri (“Kitra” is the Festival currency and it is approximately equal to 1 euro) for each film selected to compete in the International Competition.
• The Festival WILL NOT pay screening fees for the films selected for the side programmes.
• The total prize money to be distributed at the The Festival is 10,000 Euro in gold.
• The Competition Programmes of The Festival are divided as follows:
I. INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
for films with Bulgarian premiere at the Festival in one of the following categories:
- Fiction films
- Documentaries
- Animations
- Experimental films, hybrid forms and formats, digital art works
Films and audiovisual works publicly shown in Bulgaria or released online on free-access websites or platforms are NOT ELIGIBLE for the International Competition!
II. NATIONAL COMPETITION
for Bulgarian films, in one of the following categories:
- Fiction films
- Documentaries
- Animations
- Experimental films, hybrid forms and formats, digital art works Eligible for entry in the National
Competition are films produced in or co-produced with Bulgaria. I
II. STUDENT COMPETITION
in one of the following categories:
- Fiction films
- Documentaries
- Animations
- Experimental films, hybrid forms and formats, digital art works
Eligible for entry in the Student Competition are films created only during the education period of the director.
• The Festival will appoint a Selection Committee, as well as a professional International Jury to assess the films shown at the Festival.
• The authors of all selected films will be notified 9 weeks before opening of the Festival. • Accreditation applications should be sent no later than 6 weeks before opening of the Festival.
• The deadline for sending screening copies of the selected films is 6 weeks before opening of the Festival.
• The films must have English dialogue OR English subtitles.
• Screening copies are preferred to be delivered in HD/High Resolution.
• The preview copies of all films submitted to the Festival are automatically included in the Festival Video Library, where they are available for non-commercial
