The State Institute of Culture participates in the “2008 Museum Night, Plovdiv” international initiative by presenting two documentaries at the “Orpheus” open-air cinema at the foot of the Sahatepe hill, based on the following schedule:

8 p.m.  A documentary about the collection of sculptures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Ivaylo Giurov and Maria Vasileva.

8.30 p.m. A glass of wine for the guests

9 p.m.  „Musical Dialogues Along the Danube – Against the Stream“: a documentary by Zlatina Rousseva.

A total of 31 museums and galleries in the city of Plovdiv will not be closing doors on the night of September 26 to participate in the fourth consecutive „Museum and Gallery Night”.

Nearly 200 interesting exhibitions and satellite events are welcoming visitors to the biggest nocturnal celebration of the arts in the City of the Seven Hills. Last year the event was visited by twenty thousand people. Owing to the great variety of theater, literature, music, visual arts and fashion events everybody can live through a night adventure suited to his/her taste. There is no age restriction.

Besides the traditional hosts that keep the fire of the Museum Night burning every year, the visitors’ route now includes some unusual stops – several music nightclubs, city squares, parking lots, backyards ... The two theaters, the open-air cinema and a community centre will not go to sleep. Starting from the top of the hill on which Old Plovdiv is situated and all the way to the Central Post Office square, there will be art waiting for you at every corner.
