Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
Velislava Petrova graduated from the University of Cambridge, UK, where she defended and obtained the Doctor`s degree in Biomedical Sciences. She has experience in the UN and other international organizations with a focus on the countries of the Global South. She is a specialist in the fields of development cooperation and global health. She has also worked as an expert in disaster risk assessment in Bulgaria at the World Bank.
Over the last two years, she has been working in Geneva on a number of projects to strengthen Europe-Africa partnerships to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
By order of the Prime Minister of 07.01.2022, she was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
