The "Bulgaria from a Bird's Eye View" Exhibition Attracts Attention in Vancouver During Independence Day Celebrations
On September 22, during the official celebration of Bulgaria's Independence Day in Vancouver, organized by the Consulate General in Toronto, special attention was given to the exhibition "Bulgaria from a Bird's Eye View." This impressive showcase, featuring 25 large-format photographs by photographer Alexander Ivanov, introduced the city’s residents and guests to the unique natural and historical beauty of Bulgaria.
The exhibition is part of the "Traveling Exhibitions" program by the State Institute for Culture and was presented for the first time to the public in Vancouver. Ivanov's photos, capturing the magic of Bulgaria's mountains, plains, and monuments, captivated the audience, conveying the rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes of the country.
In the context of the festive celebration, the event also offered a diverse cultural program, including folk dances by the groups “Kitka” and “Zornitsa,” songs by the vocal group of the Bulgarian school, and a traditional dance class. Bulgaria’s Consul General, Velislava Panova, greeted the guests and emphasized the importance of Independence as a unifying moment for the Bulgarian nation.
Alongside "Bulgaria from a Bird's Eye View," other significant exhibitions were also presented at the event, including “30 Years of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria” and “145 Years of the Bulgarian Parliament,” provided by the National Assembly.
The celebrations in Vancouver not only marked Bulgaria's Independence Day but also continued the mission of the Consulate General in Toronto to promote Bulgarian culture and traditions in Canada.
