On 2 May 2024, Ambassador Tihomir Stoytchev handed over copies of his Letters of Credence to Victoria Busby OBE, Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps and Director of Protocol at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

The Bulgarian Ambassador thanked for being given the possibility of delivering the copies of his credentials less than 24 hours after his arrival in London which is indicative of the importance the two sides give to the development of the bilateral relations.

During the meeting, an overview was made of the partnership between Bulgaria and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with an emphasis on the implementation of the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Partnership between the two countries, signed in October 2023, including the cooperation in foreign, security and defence policy, justice and home affairs, the fight against illegal migration, economic and trade co-operation, science, innovation and the development of technologies with an added value, health, education and culture, tourism and the fight against climate change. Information was shared on the numerous Bulgarian communities on the territory of the United Kingdom which serve as a natural bridge between the two countries.
