During the meeting, Prime Minister Glavchev briefed the diplomats on the main task of the government - holding free and fair elections. At the same time, the prime minister was adamant that the cabinet will continue to work on all other areas of Bulgarian foreign policy and to follow Bulgaria's Euro-Atlantic course.

Before the ambassadors Dimitar Glavchev pointed out that our country's key external priorities remain accession to Schengen by land and accession to the euro area. Bulgaria will continue the constructive dialogue and active cooperation with the European partners. Glavchev stressed that our country's efforts have led to decreasing migration pressure. Regarding the euro area, the prime minister pointed out to the ambassadors that our ambition is to introduce the common European currency in 2025. In this regard, the prime minister said that we expect support from the euro area members as well as a rapid review and assessment of Bulgaria's readiness. Glavchev assured the guests that the Bulgarian institutions are working intensively and making good progress in all the streams to ensure timely preparation for membership.

Bulgaria's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development was another focus that Prime Minister Glavchev brought to the attention of the ambassadors. The Prime Minister pointed to the benefits of our membership, highlighting the beneficial impact on the whole region of South-Eastern Europe, contributing to improved economic stability, investment climate and living standards. Bulgaria remains strongly committed to supporting OECD regional initiatives, in particular the Regional Programme for South East Europe.

Security in the Black Sea, the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East region were also discussed during the meeting with the ambassadors.
